Control of magnetoelastic coupling in Ni/Fe multilayers using He+ ion irradiation

چکیده
This study reports the effects of post-growth He + irradiation on magneto-elastic properties a Ni/Fe multi-layered stack. The progressive intermixing caused by at interfaces multilayer allows us to tune saturation magnetostriction value with increasing fluences and even induce reversal sign magnetostrictive effect. Additionally, critical fluence which absolute is dramatically reduced identified. Therefore, insensitivity strain magnetic stack nearly reached, as required for many applications. All above-mentioned are attributed combination negative sputtered Ni Fe layers positive x 1− alloy intermixed interfaces, whose contribution gradually increased irradiation. Importantly, does not alter layer polycrystalline structure, confirming that ion an excellent tool samples. An alternative class spintronic devices can be envisioned material treatment able arbitrary change ion-induced “magnetic patterning.”

High-energy ion beam irradiation of Co/NiFe/Co/Cu multilayers: effects on the structural, transport and magnetic properties
The aim of this work is to investigate the effects of 593 MeV Au irradiation using two different projectile charges, namely Au and Au on the structural, transport and magnetization properties of Co/NiFe/Co/Cu multilayers. X-Ray diffraction and extended x-ray absorption fine structures measurements show no significant structural change for as deposited and irradiated multilayers. On the other ha...

Ion irradiation induced modifications of a periodic Pt/C multilayer system containing Fe impurity have been analyzed by X-ray techniques suitable for exploring nanometer depth scales with sub-nanometer depth resolution. The multilayer stack with 15 Pt/C layer pairs (period 4.23 nm, total thickness 63.45 nm) was fabricated on a glass substrate. A 2 MeV Au2þ ion beam was rastered on the sample to...
